Dr. Stephen Salvati
Director of Studies

On the first day, your level of English Language and its needs are extensively assessed. The different components of the evaluation test, allow us to establish your current level of English.

To individualise your learning experience, you complete a needs analysis questionnaire, which allows us to integrate your objectives into the course content. Our successful learner-centred approach to teaching allows you to achieve your goals. Teachers focus on practical communication and learning skills and encourage you to participate actively in the process of learning.

Pair and group work ensure that you have many opportunities to practise speaking and listening in a stimulating and supportive learning environment. You have a progress test and a personal tutorial with your principal teacher each week.

As an extension of our personalised approach to learning, a member of the academic team is present in the study room to help and advise you.

The First Certificate of English (FCE) is a University of Cambridge ESOL examination designed for people who use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level. The FCE examination is an extremely popular, internationally recognised qualification in English. The FCE examinations are held in Ireland in March, June and December. Our preparation courses normally start 10 to 12 weeks in advance of the FCE exam and focus both on improving skills accuracy and exam technique. As part of the course students do a full FCE mock examination, which is prepared and corrected to Cambridge standards.

Classes are available from 8:00am to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday, either morning to afternoons or from afternoon to evenings.

The TOEFL iBT Preparation Course

The new TOEFL is an internet-based test (TOEFL iBT). It is very different from older versions of the test, and it is much more challenging. This course is especially designed to prepare students for the new challenges of TOEFL iBT.

The TOEFL iBT evaluates the four core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Testing speaking skills is a new feature of the TOEFL iBT. Also new is that every problem tests as many as three language skills at once.
Students find this new test format very challenging.

This course helps students gain experience and confidence leading to more positive test results.

  • Practice and learn key test-taking strategies for the TOEFL iBT
  • Practice individual test sections of the TOEFL iBT using the integrated skills test format
  • Learn techniques to build vocabulary
  • Review key grammar points
  • Improve listening comprehension skills
  • Write and receive feedback on practice essays
  • Improve test performance under time limits
  • Take a complete practice test of the TOEFL iBT
  • Receive individual instruction in small classes

Classes are available from 8:00am to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday, either morning to afternoons or from afternoon to evenings.
